Celebrate Mother Earth Festival at the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery on Sunday, April 27, 2014

The Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery is throwing their annual spring festival fundraiser on Sunday, April 27th starting at noon.

There will be live musical performances, nature exhibits, historic walking tours, planting activities, food & refreshments.

Attendees will also be able to meet several very special guests: the new goats who are coming to the cemetery this spring and summer for an invasive weed eradication project!

Located at 435 Newark Avenue, the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery has a long and interesting history that should be preserved: the cemetery was the site of multiple Revolutionary War skirmishes, serves as the resting place for hundreds of Civil War Soldiers and is believed to have underground tunnels and hidden crypts that were a part of the Underground Railroad.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards restoring the historic cemetery.

  1. Mobile laser tag is an exciting, new and fun way to experience the thrill of outdoor skirmish. It’s an ideal activity for kids birthday parties or teenagers with lots of energy to burn!
