Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Liberty State Park on May 31, 2014

The Jersey Journal reports that the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic will be returning to Liberty State Park on Saturday, May 31st.

Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, April 16th at 10 am via www.vcpoloclassic.com.  Tickets are $125 for Early Access, $65 for General Access and includes ferry transportation from Manhattan or shuttle service via the Light Rail station at Liberty State Park.

Last year's Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic was a sold out event that included a polo match, gourmet food trucks, Veuve Clicquot champagne and many celebrity guests.

New Pilates Studio Near Liberty State Park: Liberty Pilates

Liberty Pilates is a new pilates studio in a historic brownstone near Liberty State Park that specializes in one-on-one programs on the mat and reformer for all fitness levels.

They are currently offering new clients 3 private pilates sessions for $99 (sessions are by appointment only).

Reminder: this Saturday, July 20th is City Water Day from 10 am to 4 pm in support and celebration of waterfronts in the metro area, including Liberty State Park and Governors Island.

National Dine Out Day in Support of the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund is Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Wednesday, June 19th is National Dine Out Day, a national program to support the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.  Restaurants will contribute proceeds to the Fund which will be used to supports organizations that aid in the recovery and rebuilding efforts of New Jersey.

Liberty House Restaurant in Liberty State Park (76 Audrey Zapp Drive) will be participating as well as many others in New Jersey and the NYC area.  Visit National Dine Out Day's website for a complete list of participating restaurants.

Ribbon Cutting for the New Footbridge to Liberty State Park Tomorrow, Friday, May 24, 2013

The old footbridge to Liberty State Park prior to Hurricane Sandy

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new footbridge to Liberty State Park will take place tomorrow, Friday, May 24, 2013 at 11 am.

The new pedestrian bridge at the end of Jersey Avenue replaces the one that was washed out during Hurricane Sandy last year and will be named “Ethel Pesin Liberty Bridge" after the the community leader and founding trustee of the Friends of Liberty State Park who passed away earlier this year.

Jersey City residents will once again be able to access Liberty State Park by foot or bike, just in time for Memorial Day weekend!

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park on June 1, 2013

The annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic will take place on Saturday June 1, 2013 Liberty State Park.  It will be an afternoon of a polo match, glasses of Veuve Clicquot, gourmet food truck fare (Red Hook Lobster, Nuchas, Chinese Mirch, Mac Truck, Korilla BBQ) and of course LSP's breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline.

Earth Day Celebrations and 5K Run at Liberty State Park This Saturday, April 20, 2013

Earth Day celebrations, including a 5k run, will take place this Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Liberty State Park.  Registration for the 5k begins at 7:30 am to 9:30 am ($25) and the race starts at 10 am.  There will also be entertainment, rides, music, fair food and giveaways in honor of Earth Day.  For more info, check out Hudson County Improvement Authority's website.
