Cocoa Bakery Grand Opening Celebration on Sunday, October 20, 2013

After overcoming incredible setbacks, Cocoa Bakery Cafe has finally opened their doors at 275 Grand Street!

The bakery's owner is Nobu Pastry Chef Jessica Isaacs and they offer many baked goods, desserts, pastries, chocolates, cookies and custom-designed wedding cakes.

In honor of their grand opening there will be celebrations all day tomorrow, Sunday, October 20th including a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Fulop at 5 pm.

Shakespeare in the Park in Jersey City Starts Friday, June 14, 2013

The Jersey Journal is reporting that The Hudson Shakespeare Company will be starting their 22nd annual Shakespeare in the park series starting with "Cyrano de Bergerac".

Performances will be on:

Friday, June 14 at Van Vorst Park at 7 pm

Saturday, June 15 at the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery at 5 pm ($10 suggested donation)

Thursday, June 20 at Hamilton Park at 7 pm

Community Flea Market Fundraiser at Van Vorst Park Tomorrow, Saturday, May 18, 2013

Spring is here and it is a great time to do a little spring cleaning!

Friends of Van Vorst Park has announced a community flea market fundraiser at Van Vorst Park tomorrow, Saturday, May 18 between 9 am - 4pm.

To set up a table and sell, spots range from $25 - $60 and you must bring your own 3x5 table.  Visit www.fvvp.org to pay by credit card.  All funds raised will go towards the maintenance of the park.

It's that time of year!  The Van Vorst Park Farmers' Market will return tomorrow, Saturday, April 27, 2013.

The Van Vorst Park Farmers' Market will be on Saturdays 8:30 am until 3:00 pm until December 22, 2013.

There will be baked goods, prepared foods, fresh fruits and vegetables available from vendors such as local establishment Cocoa Bakery.
